Milne Technologies onboard the Norwegian Research Vessel "G.O. Sars"

Milne Technologies was invited by the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research (IMR) to travel onboard the R/V "G.O. Sars" for the "2006 Norwegian Sea Herring and Blue Whiting Acoustic Survey". More than 3,000 km of transects were surveyed from the time we left port in Tromsø on May 21 until we arrived in Bergen 10 days later. Click here for a map of the survey route.

The G.O. Sars is considered the flag-ship of acoustic survey vessels and is fully outfitted with over 10 acoustic systems including the Simrad 3D EP70 multi-beam system, FS20 trawl sonar, the TOPAS sub-bottom profiler and a multi-frequency EK60 (18 kHz, 38kHz, 70kHz, 120kHz, & 200 kHz). More.....
